Abstract The article takes the lead from the amendment of Title IX of the French Constitution to analyse the debate about the political and juridical responsibility of the President of the Fifth Republic. The article investigates how the Constitutional amendment could affect the French form of government. In fact, the constitutional amendment introduces a new impeachment procedure which is very similar to the one that exists in the United States. The article argues that this constitutional reform will not lead to a substantial change of the form of government. |
