Abstract The author examines popular legislative initiative at both national and regional level. The author underlines the importance of legislative initiative at national level, in the light of the new regional Statutes. In fact regional lawmakers have shown particular interest for this means of popular participation. The author argues the importance of regional popular legislative initiative from a comparative perspective using Switzerland as a case study. In fact, Switzerland is the most advanced example of participatory democracy, particularly after the 2003 reform of popular rights. |
