Abstract

The recent reform of the Swiss federal system has been carried out almost simultaneously with the German reform approved in 2006 by the “Great Coalition”. The Swiss reform, as the German one was, is very ambitious. In fact, this reform could significantly change the typical cooperative approach that has characterized Swiss federalism during the 20th century. The following articles will illustrate various aspects of this complex reform process, which began in 2004 and is now coming into effect.
