Abstract Higher Education in United States is a multifaceted phenomenon in a modern society, combining a diversity of Institutions and students. Although the most frequently cited characteristics include the absence of a centralised control, a closer examination reveals that higher Education has been an interest and concern of the Federal Government from the first days of the Republic. |
