AbstractThe article deals with the definition and efficacy of fundamental rights in Portugal. In particular it hightlights the vast number of rights and freedoms that exist in Portugal and the vague limit regarding their exercise and enjoyment. The Author then underlines the broad and increasing commitments of public powers in guaranteeing the effectiveness of these freedoms and rights and the role of the Constitutional Court in shaping and protecting them. Moreover specific attention is addressed to the analysis of the freedom of expression and citizens’right to participate in the decision-making process. |
