Abstract The focus of this article is the role of the Regional Councils in Italy after the constitutional reform of the Constitution of 1948, that in March 2001, the Parliament approved moving further towards a federal constitutional structure. Particularly, the article examines the question of whether the Regional Council of Liguria (and Marche) can be called “Regional Parliaments”. In two cases, with reference to the articles 55, 67, 121 of the Italian Constitution, the Italian Constitutional Court has asserted that the Regional Councils cannot have this denomination. |
