Abstract

The article looks at the content of the draft of the European Constitution with respect to the protection of rights. It begins with an examination of the Charter of Nice and the role it has played with regard to the functions exerted by the European institutions and the European Court of Justice. Finally it analyses the work carried out by the European Convention and the main features of the draft text approved on 13th June.
