Abstract This article focuses on the Italian experience of Ombudsman, through the analysis of the regional and local models. The Ombudsman concept comes from Sweden (in its constitutional reform of 1809) and circulated in many Countries to supervise the legality of the activities of the Government and of public administration at large, but, actually, in Italy, Ombudsman isn’t a national Independent Authority, but the institution is only provided for regional and local public administration, to guarantee principles of impartiality and good practice. The Italian experience is analyzed in the perspective of the institution of a national Independent Authority. |
